Angela Wertner

Angela has been performing since a very young age. Her passion started young with dance recitals, chorus concerts and school plays. She continued performing and her theatre education through high school and college. Angela first studied voice from her late father Paul Pomo, a professional opera singer in Philadelphia for many years. Later, she studied voice with Gail Grossman of Allentown and vocal therapist/speech pathologist Rosemary Ostrowski at Jefferson Hospital culminating in over 10 years of voice study.
Angela holds a B.A. Degree in Theatre from DeSales University where her focus was on Acting and Directing. Since graduation she has been performing and teaching throughout the Delaware County and Philadelphia areas. She has performed with such companies as Walnut Street Theatre, Media Theatre, New Candlelight Theatre, Devon Theatre, The Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival and the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. You may remember Angela from the Devon’s Inaugural production of Nunsense where she performed the part of Sister Mary Amnesia.
Angela has been teaching and creating theatre curriculum for the past 6 years. She has taught hundreds of students in that time and enjoys nothing more then seeing her students build a love for live theatre. Currently Angela teaches dance at Kicks Academy of Dance where she teaches and choreographs for students of all levels and ages. She has also created and taught week long Musical Theatre Camps for Kicks Academy during the summer months. She served as Theatre Director and Program Director of Theatre for a music school entitled Music Training Center where she directed children’s shows, taught acting courses and organized their overall program. Workingwith theWalnut Street Theatre, Angela taught outreach theatre classes to inner city youth and also created and taught a 10 week long musical theatre course at the Walnut School for Theatre. Angela created and ran the Rehoboth Summer Children’s Theatre Summer Camps for two summers in Rehoboth, DE, including Theatre, Musical Theatre, and Film/Video Camps. Also, she served as the Dance Instructor/Choreographer for the Media Theatre’s 10 week summer camp working with up to 100 children at a time. Angela is most comfortable when performing on stage or in front of the classroom teaching her craft and sharing her great passion for performance.
